The US occupational taxonomy as an API, built on the Department of Labor's O*NET 30.0 database (CC BY 4.0). All 1,016 SOC-aligned occupations with descriptions, and — the killer feature for HR tech — 56,495 alternate job titles for title normalization: search 'Scrum Master' and get Information Technology Project Managers (15-1299.09), 'truck driver' resolves to the right SOC codes, full-text search covers primary titles, descriptions AND every alternate title, with the matched title returned. Each occupation profile carries its top-rated skills, knowledge areas, abilities and work styles (121,564 importance ratings), 18,797 task statements, 32,681 technology skills with Hot Technology / In Demand flags (ask which occupations use Python — or what Software Developers actually use), 18,460 related-occupation links, job zone (1-5 preparation level) and the modal required education with its percentage (84.8% of Software Developers report a Bachelor's). SOC codes crosswalk directly to our Salary Benchmarks API for wage data. Resume parsers, job boards, ATS enrichment, career tools and workforce analytics — this is the taxonomy layer they all need.
