Sanctions Screening API
Screen any name — person, company, vessel or aircraft — against the five major official sanctions lists and a politically-exposed-persons register, with fuzzy matching built for how listed names actually vary: transliteration (Usama/Osama, Khalid/Qalid), diacritics, swapped word order and aliases. Coverage: the US OFAC SDN and Consolidated non-SDN lists, the UN Security Council Consolidated List, the UK OFSI Consolidated List and the EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions List — refreshed wholesale every day so delistings disappear as reliably as new designations appear — plus tens of thousands of PEPs (heads of state and government, ministers) mined from Wikidata under CC0. Matching is two-stage: an indexed phonetic-skeleton candidate search over every listed alias, then Jaro-Winkler and token-set scoring, recall-first, with each match returning its score, which alias matched and the source's own strong/weak alias grading. Every response includes screened_against — the exact list versions the query ran against — because a hit or a clean result is only defensible with the versions attached. Screen one name or 25 in a batch, browse entities by list, programme or country, and pull any entity's full record with every known alias. Self-hosted dataset built from free official sources — no third-party calls at request time.
