Notable People API
Every notable person in history, structured and queryable: 1.93 million humans with an English Wikipedia article and a known birth date, from Wikidata (CC0). Each person carries name, one-line description, birth and death dates that honor the source's precision (a year-only date never fabricates a January 1st birthday), gender, citizenship, up to three occupations resolved to plain English, a Wikipedia link and a notability rank that puts Einstein above obscurity in every listing. Search by name the way people actually type it — token-prefix full-text, so "Einstein" or "serena wil" just work — and filter by occupation, citizenship, birth-year range or living/deceased. The born-on and died-on endpoints power "on this day" features with day-precision dates only (Mario Draghi on September 3rd, Elvis on August 16th); random serves quiz and trivia apps. Deaths refresh daily from Wikidata, keeping the fact users check most — is this person still alive? — current. Built for media, quiz and trivia products, genealogy, content enrichment and research. CC0 source data; self-hosted — no third-party calls at request time.
