Movies & TV API
Movies and TV metadata you can actually license: 232,658 titles — 182,525 films and 50,133 TV series, every one with an English Wikipedia article — from Wikidata, which is CC0 public domain (no TMDB terms, no IMDb licensing). Each title carries year, directors, top cast, genres, countries, original language, runtime, a notability rank and — the feature integrators pay for — the IMDb and TMDB id crosswalk: resolve tt0903747 to Breaking Bad (2008-2013) in one call. Search is token full-text, so "dark knight" finds The Dark Knight; filter by director (Hayao Miyazaki returns 25 films led by Spirited Away), actor (Tom Hanks in the 90s: Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan), genre, type or year range, all ranked so famous titles surface first. Coverage includes the categories keyword-tagged sources miss — anime, documentaries and animated series are all in, via full subclass traversal. New releases sync daily from Wikidata as they gain Wikipedia articles, and repeat syncs fill in cast and ids as editors add them. Built for streaming guides, watchlist and discovery apps, quizzes, and any product that needs clean movie data without a licensing bill. CC0 source data, self-hosted — no third-party calls at request time.
