Healthcare Providers API
The complete US healthcare provider registry, self-hosted and queryable: 9.37 million active NPIs from the official CMS NPPES dissemination — 7.4M individual practitioners and 2M organizations — with every specialty code resolved to a human-readable name via the NUCC taxonomy. Look up any 10-digit NPI and get the provider's name, credential (MD, DO, NP...), gender, all taxonomy codes with the primary flagged and named ("Orthopaedic Surgery Physician"), practice address with formatted phone, enumeration date and last update. Search by name prefix, last name, state, city, ZIP, taxonomy code, free-text specialty ("cardiovascular" finds the right NUCC codes) or entity type — engineered so every filter combination stays index-backed across 9.4M rows. Deactivated NPIs are excluded and removed as CMS deactivates them: the database refreshes daily from the official NPPES weekly incremental files. Includes the full NUCC specialty codebook as its own endpoint. Built for healthtech onboarding, provider directories, claims validation, pharma territory planning and recruiting.
